2015 Meeting

Note added Feb 26: The NCPS intends to hold its 2015 meeting as scheduled, and does not anticipate that the weather will alter our plans.

The 2015 meeting will take place on Friday-Saturday, February 27-28 at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC. The keynote speaker will be Peter van Inwagen, John Cardinal O’Hara Professor of Philosophy, University of Notre Dame, and Research Professor, Duke University. The Presidential Address will be delivered by John Whitmire of Western Carolina University.

Travel and Lodging

For driving directions, navigate to 2501 Hillsborough St., Raleigh.   For those traveling by plane to the conference, the nearest airport is Raleigh/Durham (RDU).

Taxis are available from the airport at about $30 one way.  Triangle Transit bus service, Route 100, also goes to campus and the hotel (see below), for $2 and about a 35 minute trip. Another alternative is RDU Shared Ride Services: see here for places to call.

Sessions, Registration, and Parking

All sessions will be on the campus of NC State, in Caldwell Hall and Withers Hall. A map of the campus can be found here. A map marking important locations is here.

Registration will be in the lobby of Withers Hall on Friday and in Withers 331 on Saturday. The registration fee (cash or check only) will be $5 for undergraduates, $15 for graduate students, and $25 for faculty. Please note that there is no advance registration.

Before 5pm on Friday, attendees are encouraged to use the Dan Allen parking deck or the Reynolds Coliseum parking deck, within easy walking distance of the conference locations. After 5pm on Friday and on Saturday, there will be ample free parking in the vicinity of Caldwell and Withers, including along Hillsborough St., North Hall parking lot and SAS parking lot.
